Problem
Individuals who participate in beach cleanups lack a single, easy-to-use tool that helps with digging, collecting, cleaning, transporting and sorting waste. Existing solutions address only parts of the process, making cleanups tiring, slow and inefficient.
Without an integrated tool, individual efforts are limited, reducing the overall impact on beach and ocean health. There is a need for a simple, effective and practical solution that empowers individuals to clean beaches more efficiently because cleaner beaches lead to cleaner oceans.
Solution
After conducting extensive research using multiple methods observations, interviews, surveys and competitive analysis we gained a deep understanding of beach cleaners’ needs and pain points.
Based on these insights, we designed a portable, fully mechanical tool for avid beach cleaners that is lightweight, easy to use and efficient. The tool allows users to pick up debris quickly, sort waste effortlessly and carry it comfortably, reducing strain and making beach cleanup more enjoyable and effective. Its mechanical design ensures reliability without relying on batteries or electronics, making it suitable for any environment.
